term, stay the course, and ride the down
markets waiting for the rebound, John P.
Dubots takes a different path from that of
standard retirement investing.
According to Dubots, founder and
president, there are times to be in the
market and there are times not to be
in the market. “We work with the
top institutional money managers
in the country to tactically manage
our clients’ portfolios, keeping
them in the market when advantageous while still being able to
get out of the market when the
risk is too great.” As a result, he
says, most of his clients were
able to protect their assets,
and even increase them, during recent periods of economic
uncertainty. When the market
was losing 40 percent of its value,
Dubots’ clients were invested in safer
alternatives such as cash and bonds.
“We tactically manage our clients’
portfolios so they’re in the market
when the market is a good place to be
but able to get out of the market when
the risk to their assets is too great.”

One of Dubots Capital Management’s
founding principles is financial education. He strongly advocates that clients
understand their financial situation completely so that prudent decisions can be

The firm, founded in 1994, has clients
