The question of the jurisdiction of the United Nations
War Crinos Cor.a±anxon over war crimes contnitted in Ethiopia
during the Italo-Abyssinian war v/as referred to Coranittee III
by the Commission, on July 19th, 19A-6, for its consideration and
opinion«
The Committee, after giving careful consideration to
the preliminary report propared by the Secretary of Coranittee III
(Doc.Ul/50), has arrived at the following conclusion:

crimes( including crimes against peace and crimes against
humanity) committed during or connected with, the present v/ar«

Governments that the Comission should deal with war crimes
committed in any other war#

The Committee are not in possession of any ovidenco to
show that it is the opinion of the Governments that any direct
connection exists between the Italo-Abyssinian war and the
present war.
