Your FREE hearing check is your chance to get all of the answers you need.
Your fully qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist will examine your hearing and the
health of your ears thoroughly, and ask you about the everyday situations you
deal with. It’s only by identifying the cause and extent of any problems, and the
effect on your hearing ability, that we can recommend the ideal solution for you.
With no waiting lists, you can usually book and attend your appointment within
just a few days. If you are unable to visit a branch due to mobility problems, we
can also provide home visits. So don’t put it off any longer and talk to your local

From your first hearing check to wearing your hearing aids, Amplifon promise
to be there for you every step of the way. That’s why we provide a Lifetime
Aftercare programme as an added benefit for all our customers as part of your
personalised Ampli-solutions package. This service is designed to help prolong
the lifespan of your hearing aids and ensure you get the maximum benefit.
As part of your Lifetime Aftercare programme you will be booked in for an
annual Aftercare appointment, and have access to our 5 Star Service Checks.

Common questions answered
How common is hearing loss?
It is estimated that 1 in 6 people in the UK are living with hearing loss and that
6.3 million of these are people over the age of 65 – that’s two thirds of the UK’s
over 65 population*. The good news is that it’s never too late to do something
about it. Amplifon offer FREE hearing checks for everyone and our customers can
also benefit from our Lifetime Aftercare Programme, to ensure you will always
experience the best possible hearing health.
What causes hearing loss?
Hearing loss usually occurs naturally as part of the ageing process. However,
regular exposure to loud noises, heritage, and some illnesses can also cause
hearing loss. In around 90% of all cases, the tiny hair cells in the inner ear have
become damaged. This limits the ability to detect sounds to send to the brain.
What symptoms indicate that I may have a hearing loss?
Signs of hearing loss can include problems hearing certain sounds or tones clearly,
such as birdsong or higher pitched voices, and distinguishing similar sounding
words. Other signs include difficulty in cross-conversations or in environments
with background noise, hearing at distance such as meetings and listening to the
TV or radio.
I’ve been advised that hearing aids will not help me.
Is there anything else that can help?
At Amplifon, we aim to help everyone experience better hearing health. As a
result of continuing advances in technology, you may benefit from new types of
digital hearing aids specifically designed for more severe hearing loss and even

expect, there may be occasions when things don’t go quite right. The good news
is, if you feel let down in any way, you can be assured we will do everything we
can to put it right.
If you are not completely satisfied:

branch or Hearing Aid Audiologist directly.

If your concern has not been handled to your satisfaction, you can escalate

but if you still feel aggrieved, you can contact the British Society of

Mobility
If you are a wheelchair user or have mobility problems, please inform us prior to
your appointment so that we can make provisions for you. If you are unable to
visit a branch due to mobility problems, please call your local branch to discuss
a possible home visit.
