SAP’s Financial Asset Management “One System for All Investible Assets” Challenges The current environment for insurers is difficult due to the growth in the complexity of investments, more robust financial reporting and a lack of investment return making it difficult to fund enhancements. SAP’s FAM provides an opportunity for a scalable, robust solution to insurers’ challenges. Over 90 Insurers world-wide use FAM to meet the current challenges. Initial Situation SAP Financial Asset Management (FAM) is an integrated position management and investment accounting solution for: Securities Partnerships Money Market Instruments Loans / Mortgages Foreign Exchange Transactions Derivatives SAP FAM provides for a high integration into SAP Financials (G/L). SAP FAM furthermore provides reporting and analyzing possibilities for market and credit risks as well as performance measurements. Together with SAP’s RE-FX solution for real estate management and FAM’s’ US Statutory Reporting package, SAP FAM provides an asset management application designed for the insurance industry for all major investment areas. For over 15 years, SAP FAM has been successfully implemented all over Europe, Asia and in the US market. Our Approach With our long and deep experience COMNSERV looks to reduce risk and cost of a SAP FAM implementation and Cloud operation afterwards. We provide integrated solutions designed for the insurance market based on SAP FAM. We start with a feasibility study to define the complexity of the implementation project. The feasibility study analyzes your current situation and designs the future processes of your organization. This leads to measurable results for the realization phase and later for the daily operation. COMNSERV has worked on many of the 160 FAM Implementations world-wide, We have developed best practices and several rapid deployment solutions around FAM. Tools that are embedded into the SAP FAM solution include the Financial Adapter which allows integration with outside providers such as market data providers and custody banks. If our standard solution does not meet a specific requirement and extensions are necessary, we provide easy to maintain add-ons or adjustments. Implementation We support implementations in all aspects of: Functional and technical concepts Customizing and Configuration Data Conversion Report Design and Realization by means of various SAP tools (SAP BW, Business Objects, ALV) Go live support Permanent support for daily operations as an extension of your SAP Competence Center With COMNSERV’s focus on asset, risk and treasury management for Insurers, we are the qualified partner for functional (e.g. investment accounting according to STAT, GAAP, TAX, IFRS and several European local specialties, investment forecasting and controlling) and technical topics (e.g. ABAP/OO developments). References COMNSERV team members were involved in the initial development of this application with SAP. In addition, we are heavily engaged with the NAIC regarding regulatory reporting. We have an SAP FAM background “from the very first line of coding”. Today we are an SAP Service and Development Partner with global cooperation in the area of statutory reporting for insurance companies. Our clients are among the largest and most significant insurance companies and financial institutions in Europe, Asia and the US market.
