THE Director General/CEO

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to
come and join us to discuss Investment
opportunities in Africa
 We welcome guests from all over the United
Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium as well
as from Different parts of Africa.
 I would like to Thank the Deputy Minster for
Trade of Tanzania for finding the time to join
us today.
 I would like to congratulate you all for taking
the first step to come and learn and
understand the African Investment climate
and how it can work for you.
The African Stock Exchanges

There are eighteen Securities exchanges in Africa, of
which sixteen of them are members of the African
Stock Exchanges Association We are talking to
Africans in the Diaspora today because we believe
that you are a very important part of our future. We
want to diversify the profile of our investors and we
believe that the Diaspora community must be better
represented.

We have been holding International road shows in an
effort to involve you in our markets. Our Road Shows
have been very successful and we are hearing of true
life mega bucks stories of Africans like you who have
invested in our markets and have made bumper
returns on investment. The next story could be yours.
Investing your money
We don’t want you to send us all your money,
just invest a little in your country and get the
benefits. We are not asking for charity, this is
real investment providing you with real
returns as some of the speakers will point out
to you today.
 When Investing at home you need structures
to monitor your investment, you need
institutions to protect your investment, you
need security to ensure that you will enjoy the
benefits of investing. That is what the African
Stock Exchanges are offering you.

WHY Invest in Africa

Why not, Our markets are posting returns of
98%, returns of 200% are not uncommon in
some securities. In addition returns in
western markets are very slim and some
times they do not even out perform inflation.
 We are trying to build a new Africa and for us
in Nigeria A NEW NATION, Nigeria and we
believe we must work together to mobilize our
wealth where ever that wealth is. We are
already working on mobilizing the local wealth
by encouraging savings, instituting Pension
Reform, and re-energizing the IPO market, to
provide greater access to funds for our
entrepreneurs. The next step is to mobilize
you, the Diaspora population.

market lawyers, accountants etc. Talk to the
our brokers, build relationships, exchange
numbers and start the process.


Getting almost one thousand people together to
discuss the opportunities in Africa is no mean feat.
