Oxygen-Carbon Dioxide Cycle
When animals and people breathe in air, their
bodies use the oxygen to change their food
into energy. When they breathe out they
release carbon dioxide. Plants take in the
carbon dioxide and use it with water and the
suns energy to make sugar and oxygen. They
use sugar and release oxygen for animals.

Nitrogen Cycle
All living things need nitrogen. Most living
things cannot use nitrogen gas directly from
air. However, bacteria in the soil can use this
form of nitrogen.
Animals take in nitrogen when they eat plants or
plant eating animals.
It is returned to soil when animals die or animal
waste. Bacteria in soil break these down
releasing Nitrogen in air and soil.
