Flowering time: May – August
Size: up to 50 cm
Description: Yellow rattle has distinctive yellow, hooded flowers
and pointed, toothed leaves. When the disc-shaped seeds are
ripe, they rattle in the seed pods – hence the name of the flower.
The flowers feed off the nutrients in the roots of nearby grasses.
Flowering time: July – August
Size: 30 – 120 cm long
Description: Meadow vetchling has yellow flowers and thin,
pointed leaflets. The stems end in tendrils which help it to wrap
around other flowers for support. Its seed pods are black when
the seeds are ripe.
