Parney Red Clusterberry is a large, dense, evergreen shrub with arching branches bearing oval,
dark green leaves, white-hairy beneath. The large clusters of small white flowers in summer are
followed in autumn by small red fruit. The berries are enjoyed by a variety of songbirds
throughout the winter months.
This plant prefers sun to partial shade and a moist, well-drained soil, but tolerates a range of site
conditions.
Prune and shape this plant and remove older wood if necessary, in spring.
It works well as a specimen plant in the landscape. It can also be planted as hedging, though it
does lose its graceful, natural shape when pruned heavily.
