Helleborus argutifolius (hel-eh-BORE-us ar-gew-tih-FOH-lee-us) Corsican Hellebore Evergreen Perennial 4’ high x 3’ wide Low Water Sun to Part Shade USDA Zones 6 - 9 Helleborus argutifolius has glossy, toothed, tri-foliate, silver-green leaves. Pale, pendant chartreuse colored flowers appear winter to early spring. It thrives in a moist, well-drained humus-rich soil, and is drought tolerant once established. Prune old leaves in spring after new shoots appear. If desired, fertilize in spring with a wellbalanced fertilizer and mulch annually in the fall with compost. The blooms of Corsican Hellebore will brighten winter gardens.
