Rules and Regulations for Organisation of the International Table Tennis
Team Championships of Veteran Societies/Groups
1. Rules
Basically the ITTF laws of Table Tennis and the current ITTF Regulations for international
Competitions will be applied; however, these Rules and Regulations for the Organisation of the
International Table Tennis Team Championships of Veterans Societies/Groups shall take priority.
2. Eligibility
2.1
Veterans Societies/Groups from all over the world, whose members are older than 40
years of age or will be 40 years of age in the year of ITTTCV are eligible to participate in
this tournament.
2.2
Veterans Societies according to 2.1 are also Veterans Groups from a country who do not
belong to an official Veterans Society. In this case one responsible person must be
nominated.
2.3
Upon request of the organisers or the Referee participants shall present their passport/ID
Card as proof of their age.
3. Categories of the Team Championships
3.1
In principle, the following Age Categories for Women and Men will be offered:
40 – 49 years
50 – 59 years
60 – 64 years
65 – 69 years
70 – 74 years
75 years and over
3.2
If there will be announced less than 4 teams in each age category 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and
over 75 the Organiser will be authorised to combine the categories 60-64 and 65-69 as 6069 and the categories 70-74 and over 75 as 70 and over.
4. System of play
All games in each category will be played best of five (until 3 games are won)
4.1
Women-Teams
4.1.1 Women-Teams consist of two players in each Category. It will be allowed that Veteran
Societies/Groups announce up to two teams at most per Category. In this case the results
of the best positioned team will account for the Championships only. All Veteran
Societies/Groups are allowed to nominate additional players for Singles and Doubles before
the Championships as substitutes.
4.1.2 Every team will play against each other in the group. Teams of the same Veteran
Society/Groups play the first game against each other, if they play in the same group.
4.1.3 In all groups the matches will be played in the Corbillon-Cup-System; that means A1B2, A2-B1, Double, A1-B1, A2-B2. If there will be announced more than six teams in a
Category another group will be added. In this case the first placed teams of the groups will
have to play against the second placed teams of the other group. The winners of these two
matches will play the Final Match for the Championships in the Category concerned.
4.1.4 The formation of the players in each team is free eligible.
4.1.5 All five possible games between two teams will have to be played, each the best of five
games. The Organiser and the IVTTS are authorised to decide that the matches shall end
when a team has won 3 individual matches; this decision depends on the number of teams
and tables and the time available. The decision will be communicated to the participating
teams before the tournament, at the team meeting on the eve of the tournament at latest.
4.1.6 Each competitor will be allowed to participate in one category only; but
it is possible to play in a younger age category.
4.1.7 Each registered player can be replaced by an official announced substitute in her age
category or by another official announced substitute of an older category. But it will not be
allowed that an announced player can play in her age category and also in an younger age
category.
4.2 Men - Teams
4.2.1 Men-Teams consist of three players in each Category. It will be allowed that Veterans
Societies/Groups announce up to two teams at most per Category. In this case the results
of the best positioned team will account for the Championships only.
4.2.2 Every team will play against each other in the group.The teams of the same Veteran
Society/Group play the first match against each other.
4.2.3 In all groups the matches will be played in the following system: A1-B2, A2-B1, A3-B3, A1B1, A3-B2, A2-B3. If there will be announced more than six teams in an age category
another group will be added. In this case the first placed teams of the groups will play
against the second one of the other group. The winners of these two matches will play the
final match in the category concerned for the Championships.
If there will be more than two groups in an age category the first two placed teams of each
group will have to play against each other for the Championships; but the results of the
preliminary round between the first two placed teams of the groups will be included for the
evaluation of the Championships.
4.2.4 The formation of the players in each team is free eligible.
4.2.5 All possible six games between two teams will have to played, each the best of five games
If a match will end undecided (drawn), then one Double game will be played as deciding
game. The Organiser and the IVTTS are authorised to decide that the matches shall end
when a team has won 4 individual matches; this decision depends on the number of teams
and tables and the time available. The decision will be communicated to the participating
teams before the tournament, at the team meeting on the eve of the tournament at latest.
4.2.6 Each competitor will be allowed to participate in one age category only. It is possible to play
in a younger age category.
4.2.7 Each registered player can be replaced by an official announced substitute in his age
category or by another official announced substitute of an older category. But it will not be
allowed that an announced player can play in his age category and also in a younger age
category.
5. Umpire/Referee:
5.1.1 Players who will not have to play during the Group Matches are required as Umpire.
5.1.2 Official Umpires will be available in Semi Final & Final Matches only.
5.1.3 Appeals will be dealt by a Jury composed of a Referee, a representative of the Organising
Committee and a representative of IVTTS. The decision of this Jury is definitively.
6. Equipment
6.1
ITTF approved tables, surrounds, nets and balls. Balls will be JOOLA or HANNO White
6.2
One side of a racket must bright red and the other black.
6.3
Only those coverings will be allowed that are approved by the current ITTF – List.
7. Playing Conditions
The size of the court will be a minimum of 10 x 5 m.
8. Prizes
8.1
The winning team of each category will be presented with a cup .All players of the first three
teams will be presented with Gold-, Silver and Bronze- medals.
8.2
The best player (man and woman) in each category will be awarded to a prize.
8.3
All participants will be awarded a Championships Diploma.
9. Mandatory
9.1
9.1.1
All announced participants of the Team Championships have to declare
to understand and to accept the Rules and Regulations of the International Table Tennis
Team Championships for Veterans Societies,
9.1.2
to have a valid Passport/ID,
9.1.3
to be prepared to compete against any other participants and
9.1.4
to confirm that the current health allows to participate at one’s own risk.
10. Deadlines
10.1
In order to prepare the Championships properly, all interested Veterans Societies/Groups
are asked to inform the Organiser concerned in written form (to be provided by IZVET
afterwards) four months before the date of the Team Championships how many
expected teams in which categories will probably take part in the Championships.
10.2
The final Announcements of the teams and the necessary accommodations (Single and
Twin Rooms) must be announced two months before the Championships at latest.
10.3
The deadlines to submit the Entry Fees, Accommodation, and Players Party and so on and
the options of payments can be read in the Official Announcement of the Organiser in
details after 15th of APRIL 2017.
10.4
Due to transferring little amount of money is too costly, we would kindly ask all Veteran
Societies to collect Entry Fees & Accommodation from their participant members and
submit to Organiser Representative in Helsingborg ,June 2017..Flight Ticket Confirmation
will be necessary for the confirmation of the bookings and registration at the first step.
10.5
Registration or cancellation to Welcome Cocktail and Gala Bar Party can be made 10 days
prior to Tournament Date.
