Daves Creek Players: Get Ready for the
2017 State Team Championships at our
Tournament Training, February 25, 11am-3pm
We’re really excited that our school qualified for the K-8 State Championships (March
25, at Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee) in all three elementary sections: K-1,
K-3 and K-5. Qualifying is only the first step. Now, we need to work to improve chess
skills and select team members.
We have scheduled a Saturday Tournament Training for K-5 players who want to
improve their chess skills and compete for the slots for the State teams.




Where: Crye-Leike Plaza, 5950 Bethelview Road, Cumming, GA 30040
When: Saturday, February 25, 11am-3pm (You may want to bring drinks and
light snacks.)
What: Specialized Championship Chess tournament training will cover
Openings, Tactics and Endgames. The training will also unrated game play.
(Please, bring score books or plan to buy one ($3).
Fee: $8.00 paid online at www.championshipchess.net ("Register for a
Tournament") There is an online pre-registration cap of 32 participants. Some
slots will be available at the site: $15 cash or check.
