Attended seminar of Indian Society for Veterinary Immunology and Biotechnology (ISVIB) in Deptt. of Veterinary Microbiology, COVAS,CSKHPKV, Palampur, H.P. on 19th Sep.2009 under the title: “Animal diseases and zoonoses in Northwestern Himalayas” 2. Attended training on“Isolation and molecular characterization of Dichelobacter nodosus - causative agent of footrot in cloven footed animals” under NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION PROJECT (NAIP) organized by Deptt. Of Veterinary Microbiology, COVAS, CSKHPKV, Palampur ,H.P. from 14th -20th Dec.2009 EXPERIENCE: Two years research experience in disease diagnosis and treatment in CSKHPKV, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. Worked as a Senior Research Fellow in disease investigation laboratory, in College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Himachal Pradesh. Well acquainted with immunological tests involved in disease diagnosis like TB, Pasteurellosis, FMD, footrot in cattle and sheep population etc Well versed in control of disease outbreaks both in large and small animals and in poultry e.g., FMD, Influenza, fowl cholera, Newcastle disease etc. Have a good knowledge of regarding Vaccination schedules in both Broilers and layers Can handle lab animals for conducting various experiments e.g., mice, guinea pigs, rabbits Have worked in a dairy farm (Milch breeds) and practiced all operations starting from weaning to parturition, maintenance of ration of dairy animals vaccination schedules etc. Have worked in dairy processing plant. Detection of various diseases from morbid samples by PCR (FMD, Capripox, Infectious Bursal disease, Newcastle disease, Pox, Chlamydiosis, footrot). 3. Culture Sensitivity Testing/ Antibiogram. 4. Management of poultry right from day of incubation of eggs. 5. Genomic DNA isolation (both by conventional and latest method). 6. Polymerase Chain Reaction (16sRNA gene specific and multiplex). 7. Virus isolation by egg inoculation technique and cell culture methods. PUBLICATIONS: An abstract entitled “Determination of prevalence of Footrot and serological diversity of Dichelobacter nodosus in Himachal Pradesh and adjoining areas of Jammu and Kashmir, India” was published in the proceedings of International conference in New Zealand on the topic “Lameness in Ruminants – A Global perspective”. Research paper under the same heading has been accepted. An abstract on the detection of Capripox virus in the state of Himachal Pradesh has been published in the proceedings of National Virology summit recently held in the state of Hisar, India. A research paper related to my work done in masters has been submitted in an International journal, acceptance is still awaited.
