PSYCHOLOGY Mr. Reed [email protected] B-25 Subject: Psychology This class will cover many aspects surrounding theories, practices and methods of psychology. Text: Understanding Psychology. The teacher will supply additional readings. Requirements: 1. You will be required to research, describe, compare and present ideas and concepts surrounding psychology. 2. Class attendance, class concentration, completion of assignments, weekly and daily readings and class participation will increase your grade and knowledge of psychology. 3. A 10 minute presentation on a topic concerning psychology. COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT IS A REQUIREMENT TO EARN A GRADE FOR THIS CLASS. Assignments: There will be a number of assignments, in order to receive full credit these assignments must be completed correctly and turned in on time. Several of the assignments will be completed within a group; there will also be individual assignments. Grading: 100%-90% 89.9%-80% 79.9%-70% 69%-60% 59.9%-50% A B C D F Scoring Rubric: Assignments and Assessment will be graded using a 5 point scoring rubric. 1 Poor 2 Limited 3 Good 4 Very Good 5 Excellent The criteria for earning points will be set prior to completion of the assignment/assessment. 65% of you total grade will be based on Assessment and 35% of your total grade will be based on completed in-class Assignments. EXPECTATIONS Be Polite Enter and leave classroom in a respectful manner Treat others with respect Use respectful words when asking for or receiving items Do not use electronic devices during class time. Be Prompt Class starts when the bell rings and ends when I dismiss you I like to start on time and usually leave on time Your attendance is an aspect of your grade Be Prepared Come to class prepared every day, this includes the following items: Pen/Pencil Book Notebook Any other materials needed for the day Be Productive Entire class period is used to complete the tasks or lessons designed for the day Full use of class time leads minimal homework Use the time to ask questions or complete work related to this class Need something to do?
