GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
SPIRIT (MIND/BODY CONNECTION)
Hatha Yoga: This less flow-based class emphasizes longer, static holds and more depth in each asana. The instructor will guide you through a combination of
standing, seated and lying postures that will challenge balance, strength and flexibility.
Strength/Restore Yoga: Focus on posture, core and full body strengthening as well as supported, restorative yoga poses to relax and renew.
Yin/Restore Yoga: This class includes long, gentle holds focusing on the connective tissues and the joints as well as opening the hips, back and shoulders.
Supported poses using props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets allow the body to open, relax and renew.
Stabilize & Restore Yoga: This class blends yin yoga, restorative yoga and functional movement to increase stability and flexibility in the back, hips and shoulders.
Stabilize & Release Yoga: Increase strength and stability around joints and explore myofascial release techniques to relieve muscle and joint pain and
improve flexibility and range of motion.
Flow Yoga: A flowing, dynamic form of yoga with modifications to suit a variety of levels. Be prepared to move and flow with breath.
Pilates: A thorough body conditioning class that helps build flexibility and lean muscle while focusing on spinal and pelvic alignment.
Stretch Session: Complement your workout or fitness class by enjoying the benefits of a half hour stretch session that focuses on overall flexibility and
improved joint health.
Yoga Strong: This class provides the perfect balance between yoga poses that build strength and stability in the body and long hold stretches to lengthen
and restore the areas that were strengthened.
Gentle Flow: A slower, less vigorous Flow class.
AQUA (WATER FITNESS)
Deep H2O Workout 55+: Explore the benefits of deep water aqua with this total body workout that uses varying tempos, hand positions, and ranges of
motion to modify the movement intensity. This class will improve your mobility, flexibility, cardio and endurance.
Aqua Attack: This is a high-intensity aqua class that provides equal amounts of cardio and strength training, either in intervals or by splitting the class time
between the two.
HydroFit: Suitable for all levels, this class provides a vigorous workout designed to keep your heart pumping and a smile on your face! A variety of techniques, including muscle conditioning and steady state as well as interval training will be used to improve your endurance and strengthen your core.
H2O Arthritis/Fibromyalgia: Improve your mobility, relieve pain and gain strength. Gentle, full body exercises are performed throughout a full range of
motion in our warm water pool.
H2O Tabata ‘n Tranquil Stretch: Work at your own pace through timed intervals featuring a mix of dynamic moves designed to take your fitness to a brand
new level. Then refresh and renew muscles with a long, relaxing stretch to classical music.
H2O Exercise with Ease: Waiting for a joint replacement or recovering from surgery? Coping with injury or pain? Exercise with others in a similar situation.
Strengthen, improve flexibility and mobility and gradually increase your stamina through a guided exercise program in our warm water pool.
H2O Energy 4 All: Improve cardiovascular fitness and increase overall muscle tone and core strength as you exercise using varying tempos, hand positions
and ranges of motion. A variety of equipment including noodles and water dumbbells may be used.
PUMP (GROUP RESISTANCE TRAINING) These classes focus on muscle strengthening & endurance with light aerobics. Pump utilizes dumbbells, barbells,
bands etc. to improve balance aerobic endurance, flexibility, & muscle tone.
Gentle Fitness 55+: Join this active class designed to enhance your cardiovascular/respiratory systems with brisk walking techniques. Then maintain or
improve your bone density and balance with strength-building exercises. And finally, enjoy a 10-minute relaxation and stretch at the end of class to start your
day off balanced.
Fit N Fab: If you are active, you’ll enjoy this gentle aerobic and muscle-conditioning class. Improve balance, aerobic endurance, flexibility, and muscle tone.
Barbell Sculpt: Build muscle and boost your metabolism! This highly efficient, full-body workout uses mainly dumbbells and barbells to strengthen and
challenge all fitness levels.
Fit Body Workout: In this 1-hour class, you will perform compound movement patterns that will improve your overall strength, muscle endurance, body
composition, and flexibility.
Pure Strength: This class is a full body resistance higher load strength training session. The instructor will guide you through a total body workout beginning with an athletic dynamic warm up, bodyweight training and progress you to heavier load training. The class uses a combination of weights, stability
balls, and medicine balls for resistance training movements. In addition to strength gains participants will improve stability, mobility, cardio endurance, and
range of motion.
Be Fit-Age Well: Low-impact routines, professionally-led. Functional and enjoyable. Endorsed by Alberta Health Services for all levels of fitness including
COPD and arthritis sufferers.
Open Supervised Strength Training: Learn, under the guidance of a personal trainer, how to use the strength machines in the fitness centre. Proper form
is emphasized as you build a strength program that is tailored to your needs.
Strength X-Press: Build strength in 30 action-packed minutes! From free weights & resistance b&s to gliders or body weight, this workout uses a variety of
formats to provide you with a fun, ever-changing range of strengthening, balance & core exercises. For all fitness levels.
GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
HIIT (HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING) Also called High-Intensity Interval Training, these classes incorporate an exercise strategy alternating periods
of short intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. These short intense workouts provide improved athletic ability and conditioning, and
increase fat burning.
Weekend Warriors: The perfect class for those who like to kick-off the weekend right! This class is instructor’s choice, but you can count on high-impact,
low-impact, & high-intensity every time!
Full Throttle: Inspired by Cross Fit®. This high-intensity class with high-impact elements varies its focus each week between speed, strength, & aerobic intervals. Although taxing, modifications are provided to suit appropriate body mechanics. Great for anyone!
TRX Circuit: If you want to sweat, have fun, burn calories, & increase your muscle endurance then TRX Circuit is your class. Combine TRX training with power
moves like squat jumps. This mix of gravity resistance & movement provides the ultimate workout to increase strength, endurance, balance, coordination,
flexibility, power & core stability. TRX Circuit aims to push your limits in this high-intensity, one-hour experience.
Motiv8: Keep your heart rate pumping through an exhilarating timed interval workout. Work at your own pace to get lean & strengthen targeted muscle
groups.
Max HIIT: A mix of dynamic moves that recruit strength, endurance and power. A form of metabolic training that increases heart rate through short bursts of
exercises followed by active recovery time. Take your workout to a new level!
**SPRINTensity: Bring your adrenaline & get ready to ride. This challenging one-hour spin class focuses on sprints & other intervals for optimal cardio
conditioning & calorie burning.
**Spintensity: This non-impact cycling class offers an effective way of building cardio endurance & burning calories. Interval training & cadence control are
tools that riders will learn along the way.
**Iron Ride: Ride from the shoreline to the hills in this journey that is designed to provide you with the optimum in fat burning & strength building. This
ride will simulate varied terrain as you tackle rolling hills, sprints & other drills to give you a great interval workout. This class is for the beginners as well as
seasoned cyclists!
BodyShox Circuit: Perfect for time-crunched fitness fans! BodyShox circuit combines intervals of high-intensity cardio with strength training for a comprehensive--and seriously kick-butt--workout. You’re on your way to a stronger, leaner body and a healthier state of mind!
Power Hour: Train like an athlete and get ready to push your body to the limit! Power Hour is a challenging, fast paced, full body (military style) circuit
training class. This is an advanced class, but exercises can be modified to meet your fitness level.
WOD Up?: Choose the duration of your own workout! Come when you like, leave when you’re done, feel amazing! Complete the posted circuit once and
you’ll get a high intensity 30-minute workout that fits perfectly into your busy day. Complete the circuit twice on those days when you really want to push
yourself to new heights. An instructor will be on hand the entire hour to demonstrate, motivate, monitor and provide alternatives where necessary.
ENDURANCE (CARDIOVASCULAR FOCUS) These classes are designed to build cardiovascular, respiratory and muscular endurance and burn calories through
anaerobic and aerobic exercise.
15!15!15!: Short on time but need an effective, full-body workout? This class focuses on 15 minutes of cardio, 15 minutes of resistance training and 15
minutes of CORE conditioning! It has it all!
Basic Step: Learn how to step with ease through simple choreography. This aerobic workout also combines light weights and uses an elevated platform that
can be adjusted to individual needs; suitable for all ages.
Step It Up: Build aerobic endurance and core strength in this challenging and motivating class. The intensity of your workout will be determined by the
speed, travel, and execution of your movements. Burn up to 500 calories and have fun doing it!
ZUMBA®: Join the ZUMBA craze! This class combines high-energy, motivating music with unique moves in a fun atmosphere.
Trico Trekkers: Drop in anytime during this hour for a self-paced walk on our 100m indoor track. Stay for 10 minutes or walk the entire hour! Trekkers are
mostly unsupervised though our fitness team may provide different warmup and exercise ideas to keep you challenged and engaged. Nordic walking poles
will be available for Trekkers to try out or purchase.
FUSION (FUSING TWO DISCIPLINES)
**Spin and Resistance: Combine 30-minute cycle with 15-minute resistance circuits to create a well-rounded fitness workout. The class is perfect for the
first time spinner who would like a gentle intro to indoor cycling.
Cardio Sculpt: This class blends 30 minutes of cardio with 30 minutes of weight training and flexibility to get you on your way to a stronger, leaner body and
a healthier state of mind.
**Spin ‘n Yin: Get energized with 30 minutes of high intensity intervals, drills and Tabata sets then renew and relax your muscles and joints with 30 minutes
of yin yoga. The muscle groups used in spin will be emphasized.
Bike ‘n Barre: We put it all together for you in this class fusing the cardio and strength of cycling with the flexibility, focus and core work of barre.
