Make an index study card for: War Bond Drives World War II was very expensive. To collect money for the war, Americans purchased war bonds. A person could purchase a $25 War Bond for $18.75. The government would take that money to help pay for tanks, planes, ships, uniforms, weapons, medicine, food, and everything else the military needed to fight and win. Ten years from the time you purchased your War Bond you could redeem it and get $25. Make an index study card for: Mobilization of the war industry during WWII 1. Many people joined the armed forces 2. Factories were retooled to produce things needed for war, rather than for things and home, e.g. automobile plants stopped making cars and made tanks, planes and boats instead. 3. Women and minorities entered the workforce in jobs where they hadn’t been before. 4. Goods were rationed so there would be more available for the military.
