dar al marefa – Topics for (Term 1 2016-2017) assessments Grade 10
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The end of term examination period is fast approaching and to help you support your child in the lead up to the
examinations, please see the information below about the content/topics that your child will be assessed on.
Whilst the end of term exams contribute to the end of term 1 report card results, it is also important to understand that
these assessments form only a snapshot of your child’s learning. Your child may already have been assessed summatively
in class and these assessments tied with the end of term exams will make up your child’s grade.
We have allocated 4 days of revision prior to the exams so your child can use this time to clarify any topics he/she may
need some support with. Your child’s subject teachers will also be providing revision material to help your child study
prior to the exams.
The exams schedule will be communicated with you and your child in due course, however we encourage that your child
starts the revision process early in order to be fully prepared for the exams.
Assessments for the following subjects will take place in normal class time:
-Individuals and Societies (English & Arabic)
-Visual Art / Performing Art / Design / PHE
Your child’s subject teachers will be happy to help or answer queries about subject-specific information related to the
exams.
We wish your child every success in his/her end of term 1 examinations.
Kind Regards,
Rizwan Khan
