Let's hit the crust first
The crust is the thinnest layer
Coolest of them all
Cuz as you get deeper
The temperatures crawl
Temperature could be how it feels outside

Let me put it in perspective
Boiling water is a breeze
I bet you ain’t know
That’s only 2-1-2 degrees
The crust consists of mainly two states
First oceanic, second continental plates
They float around
On the second layer of the Earth
All up on the mantle
But that's for the second verse
And when the pressure builds
In these plates, you gon' shake!
When they release the pressure
Then we get earthquakes
Two basic rock types form in the crust
Continental plates have granite
Oceanic is basalt, that's wassup

The crust, mantle, core

It’s called the mantle
In the middle, key player
This layer of the Earth gets a little bit hotter
1600 degrees to 4000 near the bottom
Temperatures so high
Rocks flowing like mud
Deep in the mantle
There's convection currents
The upper layer of the mantle is very dense
It’s called the lithosphere
I hope this all makes sense
The asthenosphere is the softer
Other side under the lithosphere
That makes the plates slide
Next stop, next stop
I hope you learning y’all
The core is the hottest
Hottest, hottest of them all
The core of the Earth is a ball of hot metals
Deep below the crust
Where nickel and iron settle (in the core)
1400 miles thick, the metals liquid
And they're melted
Cuz this layers hotter than the one before
