Circulatory System By: Unique McBride Vocabulary Veins-blood vessels that carries blood back to the heart and has one-way valves that keep blood moving to the heart Arteries-blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart Trachea-the tube humans and others air-breathing vertebrates extending from the larynx to the bronchi serving as the principal passage for conveying air to and from the lungs; the windpipe Bronchi-either of two main branches of the trachea Larynx-cartilaginous and muscular hollow organ forming part of the air passage to the lungs : in higher vertebrates it contains the vocal cords Capillaries-an extremely small blood vessels located within the tissues of the body that transports blood from arteries to veins Hand To Hand Circulatory also works hand to hand with respiratory system. Helps you breathe in oxygen (when you inhale )and release carbon dioxide (when you exhale) Red Blood Cells Red Blood Cells are responsible for carrying oxygen and carbon dioxide. Red Blood Cells pick up oxygen in the lungs and transport it to all the body cells. After delivering the oxygen to the cells it gathers up the carbon dioxide(a waste gas produced as our cells are working) and transports carbon dioxide back to the lungs where it is removed from the body when we exhale(breath out). There are about 5,000,000 Red Blood Cells in ONE drop of blood. Pictures Work Sited Page http://hes.ucfsd.org/gclaypo/circulatorysys.html#Red Blood Cells Dictionary.com Any Questions???
