3. Herbivores: Are plant eating animals.
4. Carnivores: Are meat eating animals. 5. Omnivores: Are both meat and plant eating.
6. Scavengers: Are organisms that eat dead or decaying plant or animal matter.
7. Decomposers: Break down dead or waste material and absorb some of the nutrients from the broken­down material into their own cells. Many bacteria and fungi are decomposers. *Scavengers and Decomposers form the "Clean­up Squad" of a biological community.
8. Niche: An organism's way of life. It includes all of the organism's relationships with its environment. *The actual place an organism lives is called its habitat.
9. Predators: Are animals that kill and eat other animals.
10. Prey: The animals that predators eat or hunt.
11. Energy Flow: is the movement of energy, starting from the sun, and passing from one organism to the next. 12. Food Chain: Is a sequence of feeding relationships among living organisms, as they pass on food energy.
13. Food Web: Is the network of feeding relationships among organisms.
