Year 4 Suggested Spelling Activities
True or False?
Write statements to explain
their meaning of your words.
Paragraphs
Words Inside Words
Word Ladders
Research the word origin.
Some of the
statements should be true, and others
should be false.
For example,
Astronaut-from the Greek
word astro=star, naut=sailor
Write a paragraph for
each word, that explains
its meaning.
Be sure to write True or False next to
each statement and underline each
spelling word.
Using one of your spelling
words as your base word,
jumble the letters to create
new words.
Write your spelling words in
ladders, crossing words
over when they use the
same letters.

Consonants and Vowels
