Probability Project: Design Your Own Game You will be designing your own game in groups of 2.
You must be able to explain the probability of your game
, so don’t make it too complicated! Final Products: 1. Game
– Include all game boards, playing pieces, cards, balls, etc. for your game. 2. Instructions
You must create a set of written or typed instructions to clearly explain your game. They must be easy to follow so that anyone can pick them up, read them and begin playing your game. 3. WriteUp ●
Instructions StepbyStep instructions for how to play the game.
(1 Per Group) ● Game Description – What do you need to play the game?
(1 Per Group
) ● List all materials needed to play (dice, spinner, darts, ball, etc.) ● Probability Analysis
(1 Per Group) ❖ Is the game fair? Show the mathematical calculations for the
expected value
of winning the game. ❖ If the game is not fair, how could you change the game to make it fair? Example of Probability Board Game Odd Man Out Materials: ● One deck of cards per pair of players (Note: Remove all face cards; Aces count as ones) ● Game board (one per pair of players) Instructions: 1.

Work in pairs. 2.

Players determine who will be player 1 and player 2. 3.

Players take turns flipping over two cards and finding the product. Regardless of who flipped the cards, player 1 always moves one space if the product is even and player 2 always moves one space if the product is odd. 4.

Continue playing the game until someone reaches the finish line. 5.

Players switch roles and repeat the same procedure (player 1 now becomes player 2 and moves on odd products, and player 2 now becomes player 1 and moves on even products). Probability Analysis: 1. What is the possible outcome(s) in your board game? 2. What is the probability of each your possible outcomes? 3. Is the game fair? Explain in detail. 4. If the game is not fair, how could you change the game to make it fair? Lucky Spinner
Materials:
●
●
●
●
Kinds of Paper ( Color Paper, Hard Paper and Normal A4 Paper)
Coloured cards ( 2 Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, Pink, Purple )
Spinner
Board Game
Instruction:
1. There will be 2 players needed and the maximum is 4 players.
2. A player need to pick a Coloured Card while not looking.
3. If they get Green, Black, Green, Pink, Purple or Yellow, after that they need to spin the
spinner. The spinner is small and a pin holds the circle so we can spin it.
4. Then, if they got the same color as in the paper, they get 4 moves but if they don’t get the
same color as in the paper, they only get 2 moves.
5. Who goes to the finish line first wins the game.
Probability Analysis:
1.
What is the possible outcome(S) in your board game?
Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, Pink, Purple
2.
What is your probability of each of your possible outcomes?
2/6
3. Is the game fair? Explain in detail
it is fair because when you get a bad luck, you still get two moves and when you get good
luck you get 4 moves.
