EDUCATION
2016 M.S.
2014 B.S.
Geological Sciences, University of Idaho
Thesis (in progress): A Numerical Model of Helium Enrichment in Mantle Shear
Zones
Geology (honors), Union College; GPA 3.606
Thesis: Determining Tectonic Evolution of the Baranof Schist of Whale Bay,
Alaska through Detrital Zircon Fission Track Analysis
RELEVANT COURSEWORK:
2015 Geophysics, University of Idaho
2015 Graduate Hands-On Workshop in Seismic Exploration, University of Idaho
2014 Geodynamics, University of Idaho
EXPERIENCE
2014-present Graduate research assistant
Geophysics, University of Idaho
2015
Research assistant
School of Earth Sciences, Stanford University
Collected field data and harzburgite and dunite cores of the Josephine Peridotite at
Fresno Bench, SW Oregon.
2014
Teaching assistant
Geological Sciences, University of Idaho
GEOL-101L, Physical Geology Lab
2013
Student research
Biogeochemistry, Geology, Union College
Final course project: studied diel changes of carbon sequestration in a tropical
lagoon in San Salvador.
2013
Student thesis research
Keck Geology Consortium
Participated in month-long group field experience studying Chugach-Prince
William terrane in Alaska. Extracted and analyzed zircons from sandstone
samples and utilized zircon fission track decay data to determine cooling and
uplift ages.
2013
Field assistant
Kaminski 2
Geology, Union College
Assisted student researchers collecting volcanic samples in Barbados and
Dominica.
2012
Research assistant, Geology, Union College
Sophomore research project: analyzed plagioclase crystal composition in pumice
and dome samples, using the SEM and LA-ICPMS to determine major and trace
element compositions. Collaborated with research partner to determine pre- and
post-eruptive processes.
2012-2013
Research assistant, Geology, Union College
In zircon fission track lab, collected radioactive decay data from zircons through
fission track counting and Raman spectroscopy. Processed data to determine the
age of samples according to the amount of uranium decay.
