What might be the 10y challenges?
1. Brake the language barriers between disciplines and domains
(challenges in data, metadata, standards, protocols, ontologies)
2. Continue to produce the data we need (petabyte period will be short)
but not at the expense of quality….
3. Maximize access to information and data resources (data mining)
4. Create the workflows that can integrate data sources from different
disciplines and visualize them (challenges in analysis framework)
5. Seek for HPC sources that may handle these data (EGI, cloud) and their
analysis (challenges in hardware and computing capacity)
6. Create the framework for interpretation of the results
7. Create the “go-in-between” communities, starting from the “trading zones”:
a new era of polymaths or “encyclopedists”?

1. This is the science universe that changes the way we currently operate
2. Communicate the challenges to the scientific community
3. Promote the challenges to the politicians and policy makers
