Continuing our journey to one church for the Parish of St Cuthbert, Egham
Since our last newsletter, the project team (comprising members of
the Pastoral and Finance committees plus volunteers) have continued
to meet with interested parties while researching potential new sites
and developing a picture of what is required for us to continue
towards our one church parish.
We recently presented an interim report to the Diocese, who were
pleased and reassured by our progress and in particular that we are
focusing not only on the need for a building but more importantly on
our mission to renew the spiritual life of our community.
A small group of parishioners recently visited St Joseph’s at Epsom
where we were shown around by two members of their project team
who undertook a similar task15 years ago. Like after our previous visit
to St Dunstan’s, Woking, we came away encouraged by their
example and with many ideas including the welcoming and inclusive
layout for worship shown in the photo below.
Thank you to all those who sent ideas for what they would like to see
included in a new church building. Please continue to send your ideas
to [email protected].
