Solutions for the Growing World
PROTECTS NITROGEN AT
THE PLANT ROOT ZONE
Instinct® II Nitrogen Stabilizer
Application Rates
• Active ingredient is nitrapyrin
• Encapsulated nitrogen stabilizer
•Optimizes yield potential when used with liquid
nitrogen, liquid manure and urea
•Instinct® II is water based and mixes well with UAN
solutions fertilizer
• Compatible with most herbicides and insecticides
Spring applications:
• 37 ounces per acre
Fall applications:
• 37 to 74 ounces per acre
Sidedress applications:
• 19 to 37 ounces per acre
What Happens to Unstabilized Nitrogen?
•Must be incorporated within 10 days by either ½ inch
of rain or mechanical incorporation
How Does Instinct® II Work?
Instinct® II inhibits the Nitrosomonas bacteria in the soil
keeping Nitrogen in the stabile ammonium form longer
and protected from leaching and denitrificaiton.

When Do Nitrogen Losses Occur?
Mixing
Instinct® II can be tank-mixed with the following fertilizers:
• UAN (such as 28% and 32%)
• Ammonium sulfate (AMS)
• Liquid manure
• Aqua ammonia
•Liquid fertilizers containing N, phosphorus and potassium (such as 10-34-0)
Instinct® II can also be Impregnated onto urea and most
dry ammoniacal fertilizer blends.
Most Nitrogen Losses occur during the Spring:
•Spring Rains and warm soil temperatures lead to heavy losses through both leaching and denitrification.
•Stabilizing with Instinct® II greatly reduces both leaching and denitrification protecting nitrogen in the root zone.
Stronger, Healthier Plants
• Increased yield
• Increased grain protein
• Improved standibility
• More natural dry down
• Increased grain test weight
