LIVING WORD FELLOWSHIP Ministry Training Intensive: Multiplying God’s Kingdom Through Training Christ-Centered, Effective Leaders LIVING WORD FELLOWSHIP EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Objective To learn by studying and doing the skills necessary to connect with unbelievers, disciple new believers and plant churches in new territories utilizing God-given resources. This is to be done in the context of a local church, Living Word Fellowship in Whitewater, WI. At the same time, while mastering these skills, lead the process of training others so that there will be Kingdom multiplication. Skills to be developed: • • • • • • • • • • • Raising up a financial support team Prayer Making connections in the community Reaching out to neighbors Meeting needs through local mission efforts Creating relationship building opportunities Leading Bible studies Leading small and accountable discipleship groups Planning, coordinating, leading and preaching corporate worship services Planning, organizing and leading a regional or international mission trip Earning a Bachelors or Masters degree in Ministry is an option! Expectations • Commit to at least 3 months. • 10-40 hours/week depending on your availability • Weekly team meeting (2 hours) • Weekly personal discipleship (1.5 hours) • Weekly reading and/or writing (2-4 hours) • Weekly worship (2 hours) • Ministry assignments (2-30 hours) • Monthly church leadership meetings • Quarterly prayer retreats Provide for your own housing and food. • • Work as a team with the other trainees and the senior pastor. • Raise financial support if needed (as determined by a pre-approved budget) before beginning program (training and coaching provided). LIVING WORD FELLOWSHIP Description Living Word Fellowship’s Ministry Training Intensive develops skills needed to go to unreached people- near or far. Through the process, your own personal walk with the Lord will grow in intentional ways. It gives you an opportunity to discover your gifts and passions that God has given you to use for His Kingdom. It is for those who long to walk with Jesus intensely, learning through readings, group discussions, and practical applications. These activities are designed to better line up your perspective of following after God with Scriptural truths. Although the course is intense, it is also flexible. The minimum commitment is for 3 months, but to go through the entire program would take 3 years. A minimum weekly commitment is 10 hours, but to get the most out of your experience, you could also commit to full-time. The course consists of multiple parts: a weekly team meeting, weekly personal discipleship, weekly reading and/or writing, ministry assignments, church leadership meetings and prayer retreats. Ministry assignments will include a different focused area of ministry every 6 months. Some ministry intensives could conclude with a month or longer international application. Team Meetings This two hour time will be spent discussing how individual ministry assignments are going or discussing how the most recent reading or concept is being applied. Personal Discipleship Once a week, you will meet one-on-one or with 2 or 3 others to grow in your walk with Christ. Basic discipleship and personal life issues will be addressed during this time. Reading and Writing Throughout the intensive, articles and books will be assigned with opportunities to write out responses or thoughts to the ideas presented in them. These readings will focus primarily, but not exclusively on: • Gleaning principles from how the church expanded in Acts that can be applied today • Strategies for establishing churches • Understanding sound, biblical doctrine • Applications about leadership learned from the the early church and today • Establishing life-long habits of the heart • Principles and procedures for interpreting God’s Word Ministry Assignments Ministry assignments will be assigned to you every 6 months. In the course of the 3-year intensive, you will get to experience assignments: • Starting new ministries • Building connections and prayer support for existing ministries • Evangelism • Building community • Teaching individuals, small groups, large groups Church Leadership Meetings Participate, present ideas and lead meetings for Living Word Fellowship’s leadership board. Prayer Retreats Empower your current and future ministry through intentional times of prayer. Cost There is no cost, but some fundraising may be required if you desire to invest more hours or to take on bigger projects.
