What are the different types of non-verbal communication? How can non-verbal communication make or break a speech? As per specialist, a generous statement of our communication is non-verbal. Consistently, we react to thousands of non-verbal prompts and practices including gestures, body language and facial expressions, as well as unspoken understandings and presuppositions, and cultural and environmental conditions that may affect any encounter between people (Cheery, 2015). There are various types of non-verbal communication some of them are: Body languages: The movement of the body conveys messages to the listener that the speaker may or may not realize. If an individual wants to communicate efficiently body language plays vital role with spoken words. It can be differ between cultures. Regardless of word choice, body language will communicate real thoughts and impressions. Gestures: Gestures is any action that sends a visual signal to an onlooker such as waving, pointing, and using fingers to show numeric amounts. These non- verbal signals are seen as being so powerful and influential that some judges even place limits on what type of nonverbal behaviors are allowed in the courtroom. Eye contact: It is plays an important role in non-verbal communication and such things as looking, staring and blinking can also be important non-verbal behaviors. The eye contact enables the receiver to become part of what the speaker is saying. Facial Expressions: It is the most observed part of our body. Facial expressions are the keys that receiver use to determine what the speaker’s message is behind the words. Non-verbal communication does not follow any rules, formality or structure like other communication. The majority people are aware of what things leave out of their mouth, but nonverbal communication can happen subconsciously. For example, people may be uneasy in their seats while being interviewed for a job because they are feeling anxious. Activities talk louder than words. They may say one thing while it is deciphered another path in view of their non-verbal communication or other nonverbal signs. This can be a drawback to them if they are not careful. Actions speak louder than words. In non-verbal communication, long conversation and necessary explanations are not possible. No party can discuss the particular issues of the messages (Bizcom_coach, 2015).
