Gerund Phrase Secrets...
1 Can a gerund be a single word?

*A gerund virtually never requires any punctuation with it.
* It has an ­ing and acts as a noun.
* If followed by a noun, it is usually a participle. If followed by a verb, usually a gerund phrase.
