Information, ideas, or rumors deliberately
spread widely to help or harm a person,
group, movement, institution, nation, etc.

There are 7 types of propaganda
techniques.
Words of praise for a product or person; using nice words
like goodness or patriotism.
GLITTERING
GENERALITIES
Trash-talking another product or person, “mudslinging,” “ad hominem attacks.”
ad hominem: appealing to one’s prejudices, emotions rather than one’s
intellect or reason.
NAME-CALLING
A famous person recommends a product; also political
endorsements.
TESTIMONIALS
Appealing to regular people’s values like family, patriotism.
PLAIN FOLKS
An appeal to be part of a group.
BANDWAGON
Manipulating information to make a product appear better
than it is often by unfair comparison or omitting facts.
CARD-STACKING
An appeal which helps a person to imagine themselves as
part of a picture.
