Puritans were a group of people that
were fleeing religious discrimination
 They wanted to start a new life in another
part of the world
 They were Protestant
 God was their authority
 They
came to America for religious freedom
 Equality
 The
American dream to them meant being
free from discrimination
 They
believed in hard work, but never to
neglect things like family, church, and the
community
 Their education was based on the Bible.
 The Puritans were very pessimistic
 God was truthful and all men were liars
 They did want everyone to read
