 Communication
(from Latin
commūnicāre, meaning "to share" ) is the
activity of conveying information through
the exchange of thoughts, messages, or
information, as by speech, visuals, signals,
writing, or behavior. It is the meaningful
exchange of information between two or
more living creatures.
Types

Effective Communication
 Effective
communication occurs when a
desired effect is the result of intentional or
unintentional information sharing, which is
interpreted between multiple entities and
acted on in a desired way. This effect also
ensures the messages are not distorted
during the communication process.

is it important to understand
communication?
Types of barriers to
communication




Physical barriers: Physical barriers are often
due to the nature of the environment.
Ambiguity of words/phrases: Words sounding
the same but having different meaning can
convey a different meaning altogether.
Physiological Barriers: When one of the parties
has a impairment such as hearing or sight.
Language Barriers: When one or more of the
people communicating does not speak the
same language.
 Non
verbal: Grab a partner.
 Use non verbal communication to get
them to write down what a phrase that
you want them to.
 Remember no talking.
 Keep it clean.
