Animal Kingdom
• There are many reasons why organisms are put into the
animal kingdom. Like:
•
•
•
All members are multicellular.
All members are heterotroph.
All members are also eukaryotic
• Fun info to go
•
•
•
Members of Kingdom Animalia are all called Metazoa.
All animal bodies are made up of cells organized into tissues except sponges.
Animals range in sizes from a few cells to many TONS.
Plant kingdom
• There are many things to know about plants. Here are a
few.
•
•
•
Like animals plants are multicellular.
Plants are autotrophic which means they can make their own food.
Plants are photosynthetic. This is a process used to make their food with the sun, h2o,
and co2.
• Fun info to go
•
•
•
There are over 250,000 species of plants.
Plants range from tiny green mosses to giant trees.
Without plants life on Earth would not exist.
Eubacteria kingdom
• There is a completely different world than just plants and animals.
Eubacteria is one of the less known.
•
•
•
•
Eubacteria is unicellular.
Eubacteria is also prokaryotic.
Eubacteria is also known for being pathogenic.
It is also parasitic.
• Fun info to go
•
•
•
Most bacteria are found in the Eubacteria kingdom.
Eubacteria is classified in their own kingdom because their chemical makeup is
different.
Most is helpful and produce vitamins and food like yogurt. But some is can give you
illnesses.
Archeabacteria kingdom
• Archeabacteria is the daredevil kingdom. Here’s why
•
•
•
Archeabacteria is unicellular.
It is also prokaryotic.
It is heterotrophic through absorbtion.
• Fun info to go
•
•
•
Archeabacteria are salt lovers and heat lovers. You can usually find them in
volcanoes. This means they are extremophyle.
Archeabacteria DO NOT have to have oxygen to live .
One of the first places to discover this kingdom was the hot springs of Yellow stone
National park in 1983. However they have been on the Earth for nearly 3 billion
years.
Fungi kingdom
• Here are a few fun facts about fungi.
•
•
•
Fungi is also eukaryotic.
Fungi has a cell wall made of Chitin.
Fungi is heterotrophic through absorbtion.
• Fun info to go
•
•
•
•
Fungi are organisms that biologists once confused with plants.
Fungi usually obtain their food from plants that are decaying in the soil.
Some fungi taste great but others can KILL you.
Some examples are mushrooms, yeast, mold, and mildew.
Protist Kingdom
• There are only few things we have learned about protist.
Here are a few more.
•
•
•
The protist kingdom is all of the organisms that can not fit into any other kingdom.
Most protist are unicellular.
Protist are also very complex cells.
• Fun info to go
•
•
Slime, molds, and algae are protists.
Sometimes protists are called the odds and ends kingdom because the organisms are
so different.
