The universe and everything in it are in a continuous cycle
of birth, death, and rebirth
Upon death, the atman is released from the body and
reborn in another – this is a process called reincarnation
A person’s new life is shaped by his or her karma - the sum
effects of his or her deeds during the previous life
The ultimate goal is moksha, where the soul escapes the
cycle of rebirth and unites fully with Brahman
People can only achieve moksha when they fulfill their
dharma – their spiritual duties and obligations
Fulfilling your dharma creates good karma and helps you
get closer to moksha

Hinduism varies widely
from region to region and
from person to person
Worship can take place
anywhere
Hindus meditate – reflect
silently upon the world
and its nature
Yoga is used to teach
people how to focus their
bodies and minds – it aids
meditation and helps
them attain moksha
