Teaching Semester: First semester 6. Credit Rating for the module: 3 units 2 hours theoretical , 3 hours practical 7. Prerequisites and co-requisites: 8. Module summary :Zoology is the study of animals ,it is one of the broadest fields in all science with many sub disciplines .It contains an introduction to animal kingdom with understanding the evolutionary processes and the ecological principles and classification of animal .In addition ,it cover the general structure of the cell, tissue ,organ ,and organ systems of animals. 9. Module Aims The main aims of this course are: 1. To develop an understanding of the principles of animal biology. 2. To establish basic practical laboratory skills. 3. To relate the anatomical structure with functions. 10. Learning outcome :- at the end of this module the student are able to : 1. Be familiar with the specialized vocabulary of zoology 2. Have knowledge about some concepts in zoology and know the specializations in zoology, and evolutionary processes. 3. Review the structure of cells, tissues and organs and explain the function of the main components of the cell. 4. Relate the structure of the organ to the function. 5. Know the classification of animals and the binomial nomenclature of animals 1 11.
