This class is intended to provide the
students the information necessary to
discuss effectively the components of
culture as they relate to the ancient
Greeks. This lesson is intended to provide
the students an effective base for
understanding the political nature of
ancient Greece to include the people’s
history, ideology and processes.
Be able to effectively contrast the
two types of Governments found
in ancient Greece. Explain the
reasons for the name “Golden
Age” Name three Greek thinkers
and explain how democracy
developed in Athens. Understand
the impact Alexander the Great
had on the ancient world.
Describe the difference between
Democracy and a Republican.
Understand the many elements
that make up Roman life.
The Class will continue its discussion on
the Roman Empire focusing on the decline
of the Roman Empire. Students will finish
any chapter work prior to the chapter test.
Assessment will be informal
based on student participation
and desire to involve
themselves in the classwork
presented. There will be a
formal assessment based on
the quality of the work they
produce in their work sheets.
