Direction for use
FlowRest
Light cured composite flowable filling material
PROPERTIES
FlowRest is a flowable, light-curing composite material for use in therapeutic and orthodontic stomatology.
The monomer matrix contains Bis GMA, urethane dimethacrylate, and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate.
The inorganic filler particles compose barium glass, ytterbium trifluoride, Ba Al fluorosilicate glass, highly
dispersed silicon dioxide, and spheroid mixed oxide, сatalysts, stabilizers, and pigments. The total content
of inorganic fillers is 68% wt. The mean particle size is 0.7 pm. FlowRest hardens with light in the wave
length range of 400-500 nm.
FlowRest is available in the following VITA shades: A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B3, A4.
INDICATION
-Class V restorations (cervical caries, root erosion, wedge-shaped defects)
-Anterior restorations (Classes III and IV)
-Small posterior restorations
-Restorative therapy for mini-cavities of all types
-Adhesive cementation of inlays
-Preventive resin restorations in premolars and molars
-Repair of composite/ceramic veneers
-Blocking out of undercuts
-Adhesive cementation of ceramic and composite restorations.
CLINICAL PROCEDURE
While working with FlowRest it is recommended to use the traditional technique of working with composite materials. Temporary and layer materials should not contain eugenol.
Shade determination
Clean the teeth before determining the shade. The teeth should be still moist for shade determination.
Cavity preparation
Appropriate isolation, best with a rubber dam or cotton roller, is required.
Prepare the cavity according to the generally accepted principles, i.e. gentle treatment of the tooth tissue.
Do not prepare any sharp internal edges or additional undercuts in caries-free areas. After that, clean the
cavity with water spray and dry it with air, avoid overdrying dentin.
Prevent the tongue or oral fluids from contact with the prepared cavity.
If the cavity is deep and close to the pulp, cover the areas close to the pulp with a layer of calcium hydroxide, then with a layer of glass ionomer cement.
Conditioning of enamel and dentin
Apply the etching gel on the enamel for 30 seconds and on the dentin for 10 seconds to react, and then
thoroughly rinse off with water. Dry the tooth surface with air, avoid overdrying dentin. If the etched tooth
surface is contaminated (e.g. with saliva), repeat the etching procedure for 10 seconds.
Application of the bonding agent
We recommend using “Primer-Adhesive” or similar adhesive materials as the bonding agent. For further
information please refer to the directions for use of these materials.
Placing FlowRest
Insert the material of the chosen shade into the prepared cavity with a layer of 2 mm or less directly from
the syringe with a disposable needle, removing the tip and putting the needle tip on syringe. Before applying, make sure that the material flows freely through the needle tip. Then insert it into the cavity, put a layer of 2 mm and distribute it with the instrument. To prevent flowing out the material from the syringe, return the piston to the initial position.
Use matrix strip to contour the filling holding it till the material hardens.
Curing
Expose the material with the light of 400-500 nm wavelength for 40 seconds.
While restoring deep cavities using FlowRest in deeper layers of the construction, it is reasonable to use in
the higher layers compatible composite materials like “UniRest”.
Further treatment of the filling
Polishing of the filling with dental disks, silicon instruments etc may be started after the material hardens.
CONTRAINDICATION
FlowRest contains methacrylate and may cause sensitization or allergic reaction with predisposed persons.
FlowRest should no longer be applied in such cases.
STORAGE
"FLOWREST" set must be stored at the temperature not exceeding +25° C in an area protected from direct
sunlight. Shelf life of the material is 3 years.
If stored in refrigerator, before use FlowRest should be kept at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
