Stanley Miller


He reproduced the early atmosphere of Earth that Urey proposed by creating a chamber with
only hydrogen, water, methane, and ammonia.
In his experiment, he found that organic compounds had been formed, most notably some of
the "building blocks of life," amino acids.
Raymond Dart


He discovered the Taung Child.
Dart affirms Darwin’s suggestion about that the humans arose in Africa.
Louis and Mary Leakey


From the late 1930s, Louis and Mary Leakey found stone tools in Olduvai and elsewhere,
found several extinct vertebrates, including the 25-million-year-old Pronconsul primate, one
of the first and few fossil ape skulls to be found.
They found the hominid who was the first to use tools: the homo habilis
Willard Libby


He was a pioneer of the Radio carbon dating
This is now the most widely used method of age estimation in the field of archaeology.
Don Johansen


He made a dramatic fossil find -- the leg bones of 3-million-year-old hominid. The bones'
size and shape indicated that this individual walked upright, making it the oldest hominid on
record to do so.
He found “Lucy”
C. Wickramasinghe

Wickramasinghe and Hoyle began arguing for a modern version of panspermia in the mid1970s.

Wickramasinghe proposed that dust in interstellar space and in comets was largely organic.
Charles Robert Darwin

Darwin was a British scientist who laid the foundations of the theory of evolution and
transformed the way we think about the natural world.

He proposed a theory of evolution occurring by the process of natural selection.
