Spelling Contract
Each week, you must use your spelling words to complete 20 points worth of activities.
Please staple all activities together. Your Spelling Contract is due the day of the review. If
an activity listed has a  next to it, you must have a parent note attached to your Spelling
Contract work that says that you completed this activity. If you do not have a note signed
by a parent, you will not earn points for that activity!
5-point Activities
1. Upper & Lower – write the vowels in lower case letters and the consonants in upper case letters.
2. Vowel Circle – write each word and then go back and circle the vowels.
3. Consonant Circle – write each word and then go back and circle the consonants.
4. Using your finger, draw each letter on an adult’s back, having the adult say the word when completed.
5. Print your words neatly 3 times each.
6. Colorful Words – write each letter in a different color.
7. Divide your words into syllables.
8. Fancy Letters – write each word using fancy lettering.
9. Squiggle Words – write each word in squiggly writing.
10. Connect the Dots – write each word in dot-to-dot format.
11. Scramble your words. Unscramble them the next day!
12. Write your words neatly in cursive 3 times each.
10-point Activities
13. Write sentences using each word.
14. Classify your words into 5 categories. (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, other)
15. Write each of your words in bubble letters.
16. Have an adult at home give you a practice test. It must be signed by the adult!
17. Draw and label your spelling words.
18. Spelling Bee – draw an outdoor picture with bees. Put your spelling words in each bee.
19. Make a set of flash cards to practice with every night.
20. Backward Words – write your words forward, then backwards. (ex. Where erehw)
21. Write each word across, then using the first letter write the word down.
22. Write your words by arranging alphabet pasta or Alphabits cereal or magnetic letters.
23. Type your words twice on a computer. Print it.
24. Spelling Shapes – write each word and then draw a different shape around each.
25. Create your own activity. Each word must be used TWO times.
15-point Activities
26. Write riddles using your spelling words. Remember to include the answers.
27. Write a goofy story using all of your words.
28. Write tongue twisters for each of your words.
29. Rhyming Words – write your list and then 2 words that rhyme with each spelling word.
30. Look your words up in the dictionary. Write down the definitions.
