Celebrity Election Propaganda Campaign
Imagine that you are in charge of a political campaign for your favorite celebrity or sports figure. Your job is to
create a campaign that will ensure his or her win…and to do that you must become a master of propaganda. To
effectively get your candidate elected you will need to create political advertisements for each of the types of
propaganda. Your advertisements could be in print form, like billboards, yard signs, or direct mailings (junk
mail). You could also create scripts for radio ads, or a story board for a TV commercial. You must create an
advertisement for each of the following forms of propaganda:
1. Bandwagon: “everyone is doing it, so should you”
2. Name-calling: “ Candidate A is a dangerous extremist”
3. Endorsement: “MJ says I am voting for Candidate B and so should you”
4. Stacked Cards: “Candidate A has the best record on the environment”
5. Glittering Generality: “Candidate A is the one to bring us peace and prosperity”
6. Just Plain Folks: “ My parents were ordinary people that taught me goo, solid values”
7. Transfer/Symbols: “Patriot” and patriotic symbols used
You must have the following types of advertisements:
1. At least 2 print ads (posters, billboards, yard signs, direct mailings)
2. At least 2 scripts for radio ads
3. At least 2 story boards for TV commercials
