... carbon dioxide emissions and consequent global warming (IPCC, 2013; King et al., 2015). On-going temperature increase will escalate these impacts on ecological and human systems (IPCC, 2014a), which has made climate change a political issue of central importance. The response of the global community ...

In a broad sense, the main aim of both projects is to study the interaction between climate knowledge, those who must act on this knowledge and the individual citizens. Thus science, politics and society at large are involved. In both proj ...

Breeding Dates and Reproductive Performance ARTICLE IN PRESS

... Much of the evidence for the effects of climate change on birds comes from studies of the timing of breeding. Many species of birds start to lay eggs earlier in years with warmer temperature, and approximately 60% of studies have shown long-term advances in laying dates consistent with global warmin ...

Although still extremely uncertain, these works show 10 different datasets which give a positive trend in SWV (between 200 – 10 hPa) of up to 0.1 ppmv/year with a mean trend of around 0.05 ppmv/year. There is even some evidence, from a few aircraft flights in the ...

Prior to 2001, only a few steelhead were collected during 10 years of ocean surveys primarily focused in Cen ...

... Bees are the most important pollinators for many wild and cultivated plant species. Long-term data from Spain, spanning more than 50 years, show a clear relationship between the first appearance dates of Apis mellifera L. Has the ozone hole contributed to increased Antarctic sea ice extent

... It has been suggested that the increase of Southern Hemisphere sea ice extent since the 1970s can be explained by ozone depletion in the Southern Hemisphere stratosphere. Instrumental temperature record

The instrumental temperature record shows fluctuations of the temperature of earth's climate system. Initially the instrumental temperature record only documented land and sea surface temperature, but in recent decades instruments have also begun recording ocean temperature. Data is collected from thousands of meteorological stations around the globe and through satellite observations. The longest-running temperature record is the Central England temperature data series, that starts in 1659. The longest-running quasi-global record starts in 1850.
