Sports Medicine 3-4:
Your group has been assigned four general medical issues seen in athletics. Work together
to complete all components of the project.
Vocabulary and Medical Terminology
Create an electronic crossword puzzle or word search that includes 5 terms for each issue.
You may use http://www.discoveryeducation.com/freepuzzlemaker/?CFID=10827508&CFTOKEN=16268703, or
http://www.edhelper.com/crossword_free.htm (scroll down to the bottom) or type in a
search engine: “create word search” or “create crossword”
Issue/Disorder
Create a PowerPoint Presentation for each of the issues of your general medical project.
Your group will be presenting this to the class. You must include a picture on each slide
and as few words as possible. Put them in order from least severe to most severe.
1-signs, symptoms,
2-pictures (what it looks like),
3-what causes it
4-what sports/activities does it mostly affect
5-treatment, cures available
6-sport restrictions while infected
Quiz
Develop a 5 question quiz about your issues to test your classmates. Include a variety of
question formats: multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank, matching, etc. Your group
will grade the quizzes. The class average score will be added to your overall group
points…the better you teach your body system to the class = the better the quiz scores = the
better YOUR grade!
