Cell
Membrane
Cell
Wall
(function) The cell membrane is a
structure that forms the outer boundary
of the cell and allows only certain
materials to enter and exit.
(function) The cell wall is a rigid structure
outside the cell membrane that supports
and protects the cell. PLANT ONLY
(Protects)
Nucleus
Cytoplasm
(function) The nucleus is like a brain
that directs everyday activities for a
human and passes on information to
new cells. The nucleus contains genetic
blueprints (DNA) for the operations of
the cell.
(Function) Cytoplasm holds all the
organelles in place inside the cell and it
jelly-like. These structures that the
cytoplasm contains are called
organelles.
(Brain)
(Jell-o)
Mitochondrion
Chloroplast
(function) Mitochondrion are organelles
where food molecules are broken down
and energy (power) is released. The
energy is then stored in other molecules
that can power cell reactions easily.
(Super Hero)
(function) Chloroplast take in sunlight,
water and carbon dioxide to make
oxygen and sugar (a form of food). This
process is called photosynthesis.
PLANT ONLY!!!
(Tree - Photosynthesis)
(Pregnant woman)
Vacuole
(function) The vacuole stores water,
food, pigments, waste or other materials.
(function) Folded DNA so it can fit inside
the nucleus. Contains the instruction
manual for the organism.
