Activity Choices:
Spelling Secret Code
GeoGreeting
Go Mt. Olivet!
Make a list of 10 of your spelling
words in your word study
notebook. Next to each word,
use the Spelling Secret Code in
the back of your word study
notebook to write your words
in code.
Write all of your words, using a
blue crayon, colored pencil, or
marker for consonants and red
for vowels. (Vowels are A, E, I,
O, U, and sometimes Y – as in
“cry”, where there are no other
vowels.)
Rainbow Words
Visit www.geogreeting.com and
type in your spelling words.
When you are finished, send
them to me as an e-card.
My email address is:
[email protected]
You may have to send more than
one e-card to use all words.
Write Three Times
Write your words in a rainbow
of colors using colored pencils,
markers, or crayons.
In your word study notebook,
write each of your spelling
words three times.
Write each word in your word
study notebook and then write
a word that rhymes with it.
ABC Order
Silly Sentences
Fancy Letters
Write all of your words in
alphabetical order.
Write a silly sentence for each of
your spelling words. Circle your
spelling words when you are
finished to make sure you have
used all of them.
Use letters from old magazines,
catalogs, or newspapers to spell
your words. Glue them into
your word study notebook.
(Please note below if you need
to borrow supplies for this
activity.)
