Descriptions
Open Sort/Record: Students choose categories and sort words. Can be
concepts or features. Once sort is determined copy words in proper
categories into journal.
Reflect: Students look at the sort of the week and restate the sort in
their own words, being sure to explain the reason why the categories
tie to together.
Sentences: Write 10 sentences with at least 1 spelling word per
sentence. All sentences must be at least 12 words minimum in length.

Pyramid Words: Write words in a pyramid format, beginning with one
letter on first line and adding a letter on each line.
Blind Sorts: Use given guide-words and as a partner calls the words to
you, write them under the appropriate category. (with a signature)
