Primary Purpose
The Communications and Marketing Officer is responsible for communication and marketing
strategies to enhance Identitywa’s profile in the WA community. The Communications and
Marketing Officer is responsible for the development of partnerships and activities with key
stakeholders to promote the values and vision of Identitywa and people with disabilities and
their families.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy
 Develop a communication plan that is consistent with the agency’s strategic focus.

Establish and implement key communication strategies across the organisation
2. Stakeholder Liaison
 Liaise and engage with stakeholders and work collaboratively with them in the
development and delivery of key messages and strategies.
 Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders including other disability service
providers and the Archdiocese of Perth.
3. Media
 Responsible for corporate branding which reflects the values of identitywa
 Review , develop and distribute statements, publications (including Annual Report), and
information packages
4. Website and Social Media
 Update, maintain and monitor the Identitywa website and social media presence
 Explore and introduce new opportunities for effective communication with stakeholders

5. Marketing and Promotion
 Engagement in promotional activities within the wider disability and community sector
representing Identitywa and people with disabilities
 Identification of funding and partnership opportunities across the organisation
 Production of funding and grant applications.


Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Highly organised with a ‘can do’ attitude

Passion and drive to make a difference in people’s life
Administration
 To develop and update all marketing and promotional materials.

To coordinate and update various organisational communications such as web site,
social media, internal and external newsletters

To coordinate the preparation and development of the organisational annual report

To organise and maintain a calendar of promotional events

To contribute to the organisation of events and functions for key stakeholders
General

To represent Identitywa’s core values

To comply with Identitywa’s code of conduct and policy and procedures at all times

Job Description –Communications and Marketing Officer
SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL

Tertiary degree in communications, marketing or equivalent experience in the field

A high level of initiative and strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the
ability to identify improvements, determine priorities, multi-task and effectively meet
deadlines

Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key
stakeholders and the media

Advanced skills in office computing and substantial experience with Microsoft suite of
applications including presentation and publication software, front page and email.

Demonstrated capacity to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a
multidisciplinary team

A current “C” class drivers licence
DESIRABLE

Experience in grant applications

Experience in working with the disability sector
