B- Objectives
Endocrine System modules is designed to
Study the structure and function of the endocrine organs including the pituitary, thyroid,
parathyroid, adrenal glands and pancreas in relation health and disease states.
Also to study the relationship between the central nervous system and various endocrine
organs in order to let students become able to describe and analyse the conditions
affecting different hormones’ levels. The course helps students to provide the basis and
working knowledge for the common clinical conditions and disorders related to endocrine
system.
In addition, the course covers the topic of lactation and mammary glands, and the
very important topic of cancer breast

F. Facilities Required
Indicate requirements for the course including size of classrooms and laboratories (ie number
of seats in classrooms and laboratories, extent of computer access etc.)
1. Accommodation (Lecture rooms, laboratories, etc.)
 Lecture rooms are available.
 in pathology department, laboratory rooms can accomodate at most 60 students at a time,
they are provided by viewrs, data show, computers and ten-headed microscope, and 50
mono-headed microscopes.
 Tutorial rooms with data show and computers are available
 Tutorial rooms should be provided by rounded tables.
Computers, data show and microphones are not all the time working in lecture rooms
particularly in the early morning
2.Computing resources
 Maintenance of computers is little bit deficient in the female section
 There should be an active IT department on female section.
3.Other resources
 Pathology laboratory and museum needs the presence of more representative gross
specimens
 Gross specimens have to prepared in the plastinization process to be easy-handled, clean
and to avoid pollution caused by formaline solution
Trained personal that have experience in handling and processing of gross specimen jars are
highly needed
