Civil Rights Movement
A movement in the United States
beginning in the 1960s and led
primarily by African Americans in an
effort to establish the civil rights of
individual African American citizens.
Precipitation
The liquid and solid water particles
that fall from clouds and reach the
ground. These particles include
drizzle, rain, snow, snow pellets, ice
crystals, and hail.
Condensation
The opposite of evaporation. It takes
place when water vapor in the air
condenses from a gas, back into a
liquid form.
Humidity
The amount of water vapor in the air
is referred to as humidity. The more
water that is in the air there is, the
higher we say that the humidity has
risen.
Front
A front is a boundary between two
different air masses, resulting in
stormy weather. A front usually is a
line of separation between warm
and cold air masses.
Meteorologist
A scientist who studies and predicts
the weather.
Anemometer
An instrument for measuring and
indicating the force or speed and
sometimes direction of the wind.
