Job Title
GLOBAL SALES MANAGER
DEADLY PONIES LTD
Reports To: Managing Director
Key Purpose of Role
The Global Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing both new and existing
accounts including assigned department store and specialty store accounts both nationally
and internationally. They are tasked with taking Deadly Ponies to the world.
Specific duties and Responsibilities
Outline

You will lead, coach and develop sales teams to profitably deliver volume, top line
revenue and gross profit targets through building strong retail partnerships and brand
equity, with a focus on high standards of customer/consumer satisfaction.
This will
include, but is not limited to, partnerships in the travel industry, lifestyle media, digital
spaces and other innovative commercial sales & marketing opportunities.
Preparation for Sales Season

Prospecting new clients in designated territories

Implementation of global sales strategies

Managementof all customers within portfolio

Secure new accounts consistent with agreed brand adjacencies

International and Domestic Sales

Sell seasonal collections to active key and new accounts

Research new markets and prospect stores to continue the growth of the brands
business

Organise collection samples from receiving, visual merchandising and return the
collections

Propose and agree sales budgets, forecasts and targets

Analysing and managing sales figures. Prepare quarterly and annual sales reports

Ensure all customers sign up to and adhere to the company terms and conditions
including payment, delivery and discount terms.

Preparing the collection, merchandising in readiness for sales appointments

Creation of line sheets/price sheets

Ensure that all necessary materials for each sales season are ready in a timely
manner (orderpad, lookbook, linesheets…).

Developing the account history in preparation for appointments, including sales
history, sell through and delivery information

Assisting with any other related administration.
During Sales Season

Managing daily appointments during Sales campaigns

Prepare all paperwork for selling including price lists, line sheets and order forms

Compiling end of day reporting, consolidating feedback from the appointments on a
daily basis throughout the sales season

The creation, management and growth of relationships with accounts, including
department stores and specialty store partners

Responsibility for reviewing orders ensuring strong classification coverage and brand
representation per door

Take orders and negotiate payment terms – following consultation with the Directors
on any changes
Follow Up

Working directly with the administrative contact of stockets, in regards to, order
confirmations, purchase orders, delivery updates, faulty returns or any other
amendments needed to ensure all orders are processed correctly

Check order confirmations against original orders to make sure the right products
(style, colour, size, and quantity) will be delivered to right stores

Responsible for requesting purchase order numbers from stores, making sure delivery
windows are set appropriately and orders are shipped on time

Develop and present a sell-through report on a monthly basis (deadline for this is the
28th in order for submission to management on the 1 st)

Present seasonal sales analysis

Collating information on stores performance, in order to handle stock list and liaising
with stores regarding re-orders

Creating training packs, writing product descriptions, seasonal media releases and
product maintenance reports in preparation for new season deliveries

Perform seasonal staff training sessions to provide product knowledge and promote
the brand’s culture with an aim to improve sales and build knowledge on how other
brands are best displayed and merchandised

Analysis of other brands, negotiation of floor space and awareness of the wholesale
market for additional opportunities. Report this information

Competitor analysis to ensure the brand has a commercial product offering at the
right price point and is presented in the most effective way
Monitoring sell through in existing stores and action stock swaps returns etc.

Wholesale

Support wholesale accounts with marketing initiatives

Help create marketing/promotional material/brand books

Maximize on all marketing/press opportunities with the marketing departments of the
wholesale accounts.
Additional responsibilities

Responsible for selling seasonal collections in Paris or New York (up to two times
per year - subject to change)

Proactively and creatively present global brand marketing strategy that includes
consideration of all business channels: retail, wholesale, VIP, social and digital, for
development and execution by the Brand Manager.

Maintaining the highest degree of client service; acting as a brand ambassador

To liaise directly with Directors, in-house team and external advisors to achieve sales
goals

Ensure our CRM system (Client Relationship Management database) is always up to
date

Working closely with design team; developing their collections to make them more
relevant to different markets

Represent Deadly Ponies at events and use networking contacts to generate new
clients/accounts - This will include building partnerships in the travel industry, lifestyle
media, digital spaces and developing other innovative commercial sales & marketing
opportunities.

Direct marketing to supply key retail accounts with relevant press or necessary
documentation or collateral

Work with design and product development team to provide market information
required for building the line and assortment plans which meet volume, margin, brand
strategy and central merchandising requirements.

Identify opportunities and risks to consistently deliver the sales targets, build brand
equity and lay the foundations for profitable growth.

Develop strategic account plans with clear positioning, consumer differentiation and
product mix targets

Development and implementation of a country by country distribution strategy

Optimise the cost effectiveness of sales strategy, monitoring travel & entertainment
costs and all related budgets

Develop global network – strong working relationship with key stakeholders in global

Perform other projects and tasks, as assigned.

Build skills in strategic development, conceptualizing, idea creation, organization and
thinking outside the box to increase sales and distribution.
