DMPK Scientist
Design, conduct and analyze in vivo DMPK study work to support our drug discovery and
development (preclinical) projects. Interpret bioanalytical/pharmacokinetic findings, write
reports, make presentations, and communicate with scientists. Requires PhD or MS and 2+
years industry experience with in vivo DMPK; knowledge of biochemistry or kinetics and
hands-on DMPK skills including bioanalytical method development and metabolites
identification using HPLC and LC/MS/MS; drug quantitation in various matrices such as plasma
and tissues; sample preparation solid/liquid extraction, and computational PK
analysis/modeling using Winnonlin. Previous hands-on animal experience with IV or PO
administration, blood collection and preformulation a plus. Boston Area
Description:
The individual will be able to design, plan, prioritize and conduct in vitro drug metabolism and
drug transport experiments to support project efforts and contribute to the drug discovery.
The individual will have proven skills in areas of in vitro screening for discovery lead
compounds. The candidate will be responsible for generating protocols, data analysis, writing
reports and presenting data in the project meetings. Works independently, represents the
group and recommend research strategies in the project meetings, maintains satisfactory rate
of output and quality of work while meeting deadlines. The individual will interact with
chemists, PK and bioanalytical scientists, and with discovery project teams to supply input on
the implications of in vitro results on project goals. The candidate must have 0-4 years of
post-doctoral experience in a drug discovery and development environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for in vitro assays including metabolic stability, reaction
phenotype, CYP inhibition, protein binding and drug transporters.
The candidates must have demonstrated skills in at least in one of the
followings: (i) Caco-2 cell model as applied to drug absorption and other cell
based in vitro assays including human hepatocytes; (ii) Hands-on experience
on mass spectrometry as applied to in vitro & in vivo drug metabolism.
Working knowledge of other instrumentation including HPLC, radiometric
assay, LSC, fluorescence, 96-well plate reader is required.
Must be able to supervise 1-2 research associates.
Excellent communication skills and ability to perform as an effective, flexible
and self-assured team player.
Well organized, good interpersonal skills, closely interacts with DMPK
scientists and must be able to work with multidisciplinary project teams.
Must possess strong scientific problem solving skills and have good publication
records.
Job Requirements:
Education: Ph.D. in related scientific field
Experience: 0-4 years of post-doctoral experience
Specific Skills: Thorough understanding of HTS for discovery lead compounds for metabolism,
metabolite ID and Caco-2 cell based transport studies. Good understanding of P450 reaction
phenotype, use of hepatocytes and phase II conjugation.
Just a Reminder. I am a recruiter that focuses only in DMPK and Clinical Pharmacology
