Bulk Nutrients Protein Testing Kit
Bulk Nutrients has developed an easy way to determine if you are buying “cut” protein, using a very tried and tested
scientific method. As ingredients such as whey powder/skim milk have high carbohydrate levels, we have put
together some simple test kits for people to try.
If you are concerned someone you know may have bought “cut” protein, or you yourself are concerned about
a product you have bought, then please contact us, and we can organise to get a test kit to be sent out to you,
absolutely free of charge.
Please note, the test kit will not determine of a product is slightly out of spec, however they will clearly identify if
your protein has been cut with large quantities of skim milk/whey powder.
Rest assured, if you are buying Bulk Nutrients proteins, we can guarantee that they will always be very close to spec,
with us using no other ingredients in any of our products, apart from those clearly identified on the label.
The Process:
1.
Add 1g (approximately one flat teaspoon) of sample to be tested to the test liquid provided.
2. Place the lid on and shake or stir well until all powder is mixed well.
3. With lid removed, microwave for 1 min. You may have to pause for approx 10 seconds at the 30 second mark to prevent boiling over. This will depend on power output of microwave.
4. Observe the change in colour and compare your test to the chart on the following page to estimate
carbohydrate concentration.
There shouldn’t be any discernible difference between a good quality WPC and WPI.
What can I do if I think my protein is not to spec?
If your protein shows any noticeable colour change then please let us know. Be sure to take as many photos from
different angles as possible.
